ALC settings for Xiegu G90

I use FT8 and there has been discussion about what ALC settings are best when using this mode with the G90. I found recommendations in groups.io on the Xiegu G90 group that says after 1.78b, the ALC settings reversed and now 100% means zero (0) input whereas 0% means max volume. The video shows this. I have found the output to be good if the ALC is between 20% and 80%. The video below attempts to show the relationship between volume and ALC.

Review of the UV5118 Plus Radio from IRadio Electronics Co

It’s fair to say that I am a radio aficionado. I currently own 14 handheld dual band radios and one that is UHF only. The majority of my radios are Baofengs though my first purchase was the venerable Yaesu / Verdex Standard VX6R over 10 years ago and a recent purchase of a Quansheng UVK5(8). That said, I was very excited to receive my UV5118 Plus radio. Unlike the Baofengs, this radio has a quality feel to it. It is about the size of my palm and every feature is well thought out. Below is the UV 13 Pro V1 versus the UV5118 Plus. The radio has a color screen, and the layout is more logical than most handhelds. It displays the channel name, frequency, and channel at the same time. I hate having to switch modes or press the monitor button to get the frequency. I want to know that I am hitting the W1BOS repeater on 145.23 without searching through the menus for the change display mode button. Xiegu G90 with Digirig and FLRig

This is the configuration I used to get FLRig working with the Xiegu G90 Digirig cat plugged into radio head communications port. Digirig audio plugged into radio ACC port. COM Port in Device Manager is COM3 - Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART. Using FLRig 2.0.0.5, select Xiegu G90 Goto Settings under config Select Xcvr Tab: COM port for USB/UART (COM3 from above) Port Speed 19200 2 Stop Bits No RTS/CTS All RTS and CTS options deselected On PTT-Generic Tab: PTT CAT set to Both RTS and CTS set to OFF PTT control on Separate Serial Port set to NONE
